Dr. Courtney Omary possesses a multifaceted background in informatics, technology, and nursing. Her career spans roles as a communications specialist in the advertising industry and positions at Johns Hopkins in ICU, critical care transport, interventional cardiology, and case management. Dr. Omary's career exemplifies a congruous blend of clinical practice and informatics. She has held various informatics roles, including working at WellDoc, a health start-up, and serving on the Clinical Content Management Team at MedStar. Subsequently, she joined Cerner EHR as an implementation specialist and clinical consultant. Dr. Omary then transitioned to healthcare data, becoming Director of Healthcare Analysis and Informatics at Augusta University Health, and most recently, serving as a Senior Consultant for Real World Evidence at Cardinal Health.

Dr. Omary holds a DNP from Emory University, an MSN in Healthcare Administration from Johns Hopkins University, a BSN from the University of Maryland, and a BS in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon. She received a certificate in Applied Health Informatics from Johns Hopkins and is board-certified in Nursing Informatics by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She completed a post-doctoral teaching fellowship at Emory and consults with the Project NeLL team at Emory’s Center for Data Science. Dr. Omary has taught pre-licensure and graduate nursing courses in health information technology, population health, evidence-based practice, and leadership. Her teaching appointments are at Emory University, Rasmussen University, and University of Jamestown.
