Dr. Elaine M. Fisher is a seasoned academic leader, with a distinguished career in accreditation, curriculum development and redesign, program evaluation, and innovative nursing education. As Director of Accreditation, Curriculum, and Program Evaluation at Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (2015-2024), she led multiple successful program accreditations and launch of transformative programs, including the DNP-Nurse Anesthesia, Distance Accelerated BSN, Master’s Entry to Practice, and Master of Cardiovascular Perfusion Science.
Her expertise spans compliance with accreditation standards from CCNE, COA, ANCC, CAAHEP and ACME; and integrating AACN’s new Essentials across nursing tracks. Dr. Fisher also streamlined operational processes, enhancing efficiency within academic structures.
Prior roles include Associate Dean at Georgia State University Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions (2014-2015), Nursing Director (interim) at The University of Akron (2010-2014), and Professor Emeritus at The University of Akron, awarded 2014. Dr. Fisher is celebrated for her visionary leadership and commitment to advancing nursing education excellence.
