Dr. Susan Swanson is a nationally recognized healthcare leader, educator, and entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience spanning clinical nursing, executive leadership, and business innovation. She began her career in nursing and quickly advanced into executive roles, leading operational turnarounds and launching strategic initiatives in cardiology, mammography, radiation oncology, and integrated hospital-physician networks. Susan co-founded one of the nation’s largest medical physics practice groups, which was later acquired by a public company. As Chief Operating Officer, she led strategy, operations, and business development—doubling the division’s revenue and geographic footprint within three years through strategic partnerships and international expansion.

A serial entrepreneur, Susan has launched several ventures across healthcare and real estate, consistently focused on building scalable, high-impact solutions.  One other firm she started helped international vendor organizations and industry partners launch global professional services aimed at optimizing technology adoption and improving safety in high-risk clinical environments. Widely recognized for her success in start-ups and operational turnarounds, Susan is also a passionate mentor. Many of those she has guided have gone on to lead and grow successful national enterprises.

She currently serves as Assistant Professor at a top ten School of Nursing, where she teaches and conducts research in informatics, healthcare leadership and business, quality and safety, and high-reliability healthcare. and she completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in quality improvement and implementation science.
